Leipziger Messe: Arriving by public transport

With around one million participants every year, Leipzig is one of the most popular congress cities in Germany. Whether it's a congress, conference or event - Leipzig's public transport services will get you there. Plan your journey by public transport here.

You can reach the Leipziger Messe via the stops:

  • Leipzig, Messegelände with tram line and bus lines 82, 84, 86 and 196
  • Leipzig Messe with the lines S2, S5, S5X, S6 and various regional trains

To ensure that all reading fans can get to the Leipzig Book Fair reliably, we are increasing our service on lines , between the main railway station and the exhibition grounds from 27 to 30 March.

We will be running during the opening hours of the fair:

  • Thursday and Friday: every 5 minutes
  • Saturday: every 5 minutes and from 9 a.m. to 12 noon and from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. with additional journeys
  • Sunday: every 7 minutes and every 5 minutes from 9 a.m. to 12 noon and from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Extra shuttle for train travellers
A shuttle bus will run between Leipzig-Messe S-Bahn station and the main entrance to the trade fair centre (Glass Hall) on all days of the fair to ensure a relaxed journey to and from the exhibition centre by train.

Admission ticket = travel ticket
The admission ticket to the Book Fair is also valid as a ticket for buses, trams, S-Bahn and regional trains in fare zone 110 (Leipzig). Please check in advance that the travel authorisation on your admission ticket is clearly legible.
